Watch: Great white shark cruises by kayak fisherman off Half Moon Bay — Portola Valley Schools news

David Slavich has spent years enjoying the ocean, but a close encounter with a great white shark near Half Moon Bay last weekend was unlike anything he s ever experienced out on the water. Slavich was fishing from his kayak on Sunday when the shark approached from behind. I heard this little splash behind my shoulder, Slavich told NBC Bay Area. I look back and I just see this massive fin and shadow. This thing is bigger than my kayak. My kayak s 12 and a half feet. This thing dwarfed it. Just panic set in. A camera attached to Slavich captured the entire encounter. Oh my God. There s a great white shark, Slavich can be heard saying. Slavich then repeated Oh my God several times as the shark slowly cruised by along the surface of the water. It was absolutely frightening, Slavich said. I think the scariest thing that s every happened to me in my entire life.
